Bashir Ahmad, an aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, has reacted to the recent statement from the Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, that he will go to Abuja and talk to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu about the hardship that people are facing.

Bashir Ahmad said that the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is in China negotiating great deals for his state, while the Kano State Governor is here talking about going to Abuja to meet President Tinubu.

In his statement, Bashir Ahmad said that Kano is a blessed state and that Governor Abba Yusuf is not supposed to be the first person to go and meet the President for economic solutions.

He said,

“Governor Sanwo-Olu has been in China for days negotiating and closing great deals for Lagos, while our Kano Governor is talking about going to Abuja to look for intervention… Kano with all our potential shouldn’t be the first state to approach the President for intervention

This is coming after Governor Abba Yusuf said during a meeting with the business community and other stakeholders in the State Government House that he will personally go and meet Tinubu and let him know the hardship that people are dealing with.

In the report which was made by Daily Trust, the Kano State Governor said that his administration will do everything possible to create an enabling environment for people to run their businesses.

He said,

“I will personally meet President Tinubu to intimate him about the hardship the people of Kano are encountering due to inflation with a view to providing succour to the people.”
