FC Metz 0-1 AS Monaco

Philippe Hinschberger (Metz coach): “Of course we’re frustrated and disappointed with the scoreline, though we applied ourselves well. We defended pretty well and we saw a good FC Metz this evening. The players really wanted to show up well as Monaco put 12 goals past us over the two games last season. We need to get points on the board at Caen next week. We mustn’t become depressed at the situation we find ourselves in.”

Leonardo Jardim (Monaco coach): “Ligue 1 matches are always difficult. I think we played well, even if in the first 30 minutes we wasted too many passes and didn’t play quick enough football. We accelerated in the second half and there were more mobility and intensity. That helped us win the game. We’re happy because we finished with the win and that allowed us to post a new record of 15 straight wins. Falcao is in the midst of a really good spell and I hope it continues a long time.”
